I have a constant internal battle between shooting in colour or black and white. For what it's worth, my preference is black and white as I'm usually more interested in shape, texture and tonality. However, when colour is the story, then colour it is. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I would never avoid one exclusively in favour of the other - other than when using black and white film when there's no option for colour without swapping rolls!
These days, I tend to make that decision based on the camera that I use and the intended result of the shooting. I tend to prefer color, when I can feel good shooting it.
There are times, though, when shots are truly supposed to be one or another. My toss-around D200 doesn’t do too good with color past 1000 iso, but i’m comfortable black and white far beyond that.
All a matter of getting the shot and capturing the mood. With sun like this, though, color is certainly the order of the day.

Nice series of shots, BTW.
